It was DASAAVATHAARAM in space!!!

It was a DASAVATHARAM of sorts in space made possible by Indian scientists and their dedicaded team!!!...ISRO creates history with its 10-in-1 satellite launch...... As malayalees we can be doubly proud at this feat...for you can see malayalees at all the key positions of the above project...(I am not taking about the umpteen malayali scientists working at ISRO but the real Creme De La Creme or those at the top)...right from the man who head it from the front...ISRO CHIEF G. Madhavan Nair...then to whom goes the major credit ...the Director of this project Dr. George Koshi...(infact It was again Dr. Koshi who was behind the 4-satellite launch of 2007)...then there is another mallu in the form of Director of PSLV... MKG NAIR...and again VSSC director Dr. Radhakrishnan. ...is another mallu...Kudos to the entire team which made it possible!!!

When the DASAVATHARAM launch was happening in Space...there was another DASAVATHARAM launch...but this time on Earth...to be precise...audio launch of the DASAVATHARAM the movie...as expected JACKIE CHAN flown in and BIG B, Mammotty, Hemamalini Vijay, Himesh Rashamiyya, Asin, Mallika Sheravath were all there...not to mention Kamal!!!

but this program got a bit of bad press especially from the local media...and the reason is not difficult to find...the local media people were not allowed inside and only a selected few were allowed at the function...so the media did what they can do best...they started writing all wrong things about this program ...putting even JACKIE CHAN in bad light...

And even Jackie Chan was stunned to find the report on him in the local media...so to set the records straight he had made a long post on his personal website...here is excerpts from that post...

Dad, Mom...I am NOT INTERESTED in Boys!!!

Dont say you have not noticed these ads where this girl shocks her parents saying she is not interested in men. She cuts a call from her boyfriend in front of her anxious parents announcing..." I dont want to go to Goa with them," and how she manages her Goa trip with her boyfriend!

Also there was this ad...where a young man breaking traffic rules wins the sympathy of the policeman when his angry father asks him to be shown no mercy...The "father" is later shown to be his his college mates....

As they say...you can either like or dislike these VIRGIN MOBILE ads...but you cant never ignore them!

To the uninitiated...Virgin Mobile, a UK-based group, owned by British billionaire Richard Branson, had launched its telecom brand “Virgin Mobile” in India under a franchisee agreement with telecom major Tata Teleservices.

Unlike other mobile operators they have declared their target just on one segment ...the YOUTH...and you can see it from their ads!!! Not just the visual ads...but their print and outdoor campaigns are equally smarter...or as smart as their ideas!...GET PAID FOR YOUR INCOMING...one fine morning they screamed and what an Idea is that!!!...no doubt it is an idea that will win hands down among its targeted audience...the youth...

Remember HUTCH was taking a risky step by choosing PINK as their color...but after VODAFONE takeover it was RED and there was even a print campaign ..."When the whole world is going Red...why not U?..."...here VIRGIN shot back...with .."We have not yet begun...and our competitor is already seeing RED!!!" (what a copy!)...

In Coimbatore at all vantage points they have erected that huge hoarding showing a PYT (Pretty Young Thing..to the uninitiated) wearing a T-shirt with "CALL ME...92xxxxxxx)...which have turned out to be literal traffic stoppers...again...a case of you can like it or dislike it...but you cant ignore it!

In advtg nothing matters...only thing that matters if it sells or not!!! I think agency BDE (Bates David Enterprise) is behind these campaigns and they have done a wonderful job at that!
I have seen parents/elders not happy/not comfortable with these ads...again...you cant say a campaign is not successful if someone dislikes it...if you do not like these ads it means just one thing...that you dont not belong to its target group which is the young....or more rightly those young at heart!!!...so now you like the ad or not?

Kerala Police smarter than Abhishek Bachan...!!!

If you are in kerala or have any access to our kerala media you might have known it by now...about the the biggest bank robbery in state's history...where they looted from South Malabar Gramin Bank at CHELEMBRA branch in Malappuram District...ever since the news started appearing on our media...unknowingly i became a fan of the robbers ....such was the pefect planning and meticulous executionwith CLINICAL PRECISION ...as they say...

What the police got was nothing but a pair of chappals...the looters were so smart that they had provided the police enough of fake clues ...to mislead the investigations at all stages...right from "JAI MAO" messages....written on the walls inside the locker room! The bank was upstairs...they had the hired the hotel in the downstairs...they did not mingle with the locals...and no body has even clearly seen them since all of them covered their faces under the pretext that they were workers...and also their "work" was mainly at night...
On the 52nd day...the great Kerala Police arrested all of them and even recovered 90% of the booty....after knowing the scientific methods adopted by the police and their operaton I have changed sides and now myself became a fan of kerala police!....at least in this case...if thief was smart...the police was smarter....

see how times have changed!....now a days even robbery is a high-tech high-investment thing ...they planned it all at a resort in MUNNAR!!!...and they got inspiration from the film DHOOM which they watched a number of times....after that they spent lakhs in hiring the hotel downstairs and and also the concrete cutters and other equipments they used were not ordinary ones...they were all the most modern, often imported gadgets used in big industrial applications!
In the film JOHN ABRAHAM and team had used such a method ...but in that film John Abraham commited suicide before supercop Abhishek bachan could catch him alive!....and here Kerala Police did it in style....kudos the KERALA POLICE!

for the time being in Kerala...that famous song of DHOOM ...DHOOM MACHALE....has been replaced by...

Union Budget...ALIBHAIi directed by Adoor!

INDIA has never seen such a PLEASE-ALL budget...some say it is FARMERS' budget, some say it is MIDDLE CLASS budget...some others say it is AAM AADMI budget...I am confused!...but one thing I am sure...it is a political budget....or more rightly it is a POLL-itical budget!!!

To with some confessions...I am no financial expert ...but just the man-on-the-street...or layman...or the "aam admi" as they say ...Going by the mood in our country i think I am the only AAM ADMI who is not happy with this budget...before branding me as anti-farmer, or anti-poor...just have an unpredujiced mind and read further....

At the outset I strongly believe it was a budget NOT prepared by Chidambaram. Technically speaking it may be...but the truth lies somewhere else...to me it appears as a budget prepared by someone like DEVILAL or a KANSHI RAM!

Forget 60,000 crore...i have no problem even if you spend 10 lakh crore or more for people...but this is not the way....what signal does it send to people...just Imagine...three farmers A, B, C who had taken loans...where as A struggled to repay it...while B could not, but then had to lend money from cut-throat money lender and repaid ...and the C who did not bother to repay ...
Chidambaram ji says A and B are big fools...you can even argue that it was a necessary evil...but remember even RADHAKRISHNA committe who had studied about farmers' suicides stopped short of recommending such a DRASTIC STEP like a mass loan waiver!...even he knew its implications...and the wrong signals it would send to the society...

I am not concerned about burden it would have on our economy...but the very BAD PRECEDENT it will set...remember our experience in india ....whenever our political parties resorted to such drastic measures....the subsequent govements had not option but to continue it forover...!!!...or that is what history teach us and we keep on paying the price for it....
What comes to my mind is Karunanidhi's annoucement of free television sets to all BPL families...that was Tamilnadu politics and that was Karunanidhi...where we expect nothing but stuff like that....but imagine after watching a movie like ALIBHAI if the credit line shows "directed by ADOOR GOPALAKRISHANAN"!!!
